Cambridge Secondary I Programme

The transition from childhood to adolescence makes the Middle Years a challenging time for learners. It is an instrumental period where personal, social, physical and intellectual growth takes place.

Our Middle Years Programme for students between ages 11 to 16, helps students develop key skills of critical thinking, developing knowledge of local and global issues, communicating ideas, engaging in public debate and express themselves creatively. A certain sense independence and maturity is developed in students through this process and they are better adapted to managing their time and multiple expectations of their academic and personal development.

The curriculum is aligned to the preceding Cambridge International Primary Programme and equips students to meet the rigorous academic demands of IGCSE in grades 9 and 10.

Cambridge Secondary 1 makes the progression from Cambridge Primary seamless and builds students’ competency in English, Mathematics and Science.

Cambridge Secondary 1 incorporates internationally benchmarked tests. These tests monitor progress from primary to lower secondary levels and are standardized. This enables faculty to guide students and parents towards the available routes of making progress. It forms a strong base for students embarking on Cambridge Secondary 2; both for Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge O Level courses.

At the end of the programme, Cambridge Checkpoint assessments are available to access detailed feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of students.
